Is Food & Drink Expensive in Cuba?
Well, it depends on what you are comparing it to...
It's not India! Consider Cuba to be more on a par with a Western European country.
If you eat on the streets, and enjoy peso pizza and chese and ham bocadillos (sandwiches), then you can pay in local CUP pesos, and food can be extreamly cheap. But you're on holiday!
Rum is cheap! Bottled water is about 60p for 1/2 litre. A BIG breakfast in a Casa Particular will be about £2.60 and a BIG evening meal in a Casa Particular will set you back between £5.25 and £7.85 each.
